Arrive at Delhi Airport and meet our representative for a warm welcome transfer to your hotel. After check-in and some rest, enjoy an evening orientation drive through the heart of Old Delhi — past the iconic Red Fort, the grand Jama Masjid, and the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk market, one of Asia's oldest and busiest bazaars. Return to the hotel for a welcome dinner. Overnight in Delhi.
After breakfast, drive south on the Yamuna Expressway to the city of the Taj. Arrive Agra and head straight to the Taj Mahal — the world's greatest monument to love, built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his queen Mumtaz Mahal in gleaming white marble. Spend unhurried time in its gardens and chambers. In the afternoon, visit the massive Agra Fort — a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the same Shah Jahan spent his final years imprisoned, gazing at the Taj across the river. Visit the exquisite Itmad-ud-Daula (Baby Taj) before returning to the hotel. Overnight in Agra.
Wake early for an optional Taj Mahal sunrise visit — the marble turns from pearl-white to soft gold as the sun rises, making this the most photographed moment in India. After breakfast, drive west toward Jaipur with an en-route stop at Fatehpur Sikri — the perfectly preserved ghost city built by Emperor Akbar in 1571 and abandoned after just 14 years. The Buland Darwaza (Gate of Victory) and the Jama Masjid inside are breathtaking in scale. Continue to Jaipur and check in. Evening visit to Nahargarh Fort for a panoramic Pink City sunset view. Overnight in Jaipur.
After breakfast, spend a full day in India's first planned city. Begin with the magnificent Amber Fort — a hilltop palace above Maota Lake with its glittering Sheesh Mahal and sweeping ramparts. Visit Jaigarh Fort with the world's largest cannon on wheels, the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) with its 953 honeycombed windows, the royal City Palace still partly inhabited by Jaipur's royal family, and Jantar Mantar — a UNESCO-listed open-air astronomical observatory. In the evening, browse the dazzling Johari Bazaar for gems, Bapu Bazaar for textiles, and enjoy a traditional Rajasthani thali dinner. Overnight in Jaipur.
After breakfast, drive west through the Aravalli hills to the sacred town of Pushkar — one of the oldest cities in India, set around a holy lake formed, legend says, where Lord Brahma dropped a lotus from the sky. Check in and stroll to the 52 ghats lining the pale-blue Pushkar Lake. Visit the world-famous Brahma Temple — one of very few in the world dedicated to the Creator deity. Take the ropeway up to the hilltop Savitri Temple for panoramic views of the valley. As evening falls, witness the deeply moving sunset aarti at Brahma Ghat — brass lamps, conch shells, and flower offerings drifting on the water. Overnight in Pushkar.
After breakfast, drive southwest into the Blue City of Jodhpur — where thousands of houses are painted a distinctive indigo blue. The drive itself is a delight as the Aravalli hills give way to flat desert plains. On arrival, ascend to the mighty Mehrangarh Fort — perched 400 feet above the city on a sheer volcanic cliff, with seven gates each commemorating a military victory. Explore the Sheesh Mahal, royal arms collection, and towering ramparts. Visit the serene Jaswant Thada marble cenotaph by the lake. In the evening, lose yourself in the Ghanta Ghar Clock Tower market — spices, tie-dye, silver jewellery, and the legendary mawa kachori. Overnight in Jodhpur.
After breakfast, drive deep into the Thar Desert as the landscape becomes progressively golden and vast. Arrive Jaisalmer and check in. Visit the living Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila) — a golden sandstone marvel where 3,000 residents still go about daily life within 900-year-old walls. Explore the intricately carved Patwon ki Haveli and Salim Singh ki Haveli, and the exquisite Jain Temples inside the fort. As the sun sets, head to Gadsisar Lake where the amber-coloured ghats glow in the fading light and Brahmin ducks glide across the calm water. Rooftop dinner inside or below the fort. Overnight in Jaisalmer.
After breakfast, spend the morning exploring the Desert Cultural Centre museum and the morning market lanes of the old city. By afternoon, transfer 42 km west to Sam Sand Dunes — the great dune field of the Thar. Mount a camel and ride into the golden ridges of sand for a breathtaking desert sunset. Return to your luxury tented camp for a magical evening of Rajasthani folk music, khamaicha, puppet dance, and a traditional dinner under a sky blazing with stars. If visiting during full moon, the dunes shimmer silver — an unforgettable sight. Overnight at Sam Desert Camp.
Wake to a glorious desert sunrise over the dunes — the most peaceful morning of the entire journey. After breakfast, transfer back to Jaisalmer for your onward flight or drive to Delhi (~800 km, or take the overnight train from Jaisalmer to Delhi). Our representative will assist with your departure transfer. Tour ends with golden memories of India's most iconic cities, royal forts, sacred ghats, and the timeless Thar Desert.
Frequently Asked Questions
General
The package includes daily breakfast and dinner, private AC transportation for all transfers and sightseeing, 8 nights accommodation (including one night at a luxury desert camp at Sam Sand Dunes), all local sightseeing as per the itinerary, driver allowance, toll and parking charges, and all applicable taxes. Please note that flights, train tickets, lunches, and monument entry fees are not included.
The best time is October to March, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing across all destinations. November to February is peak season — temperatures are cool and comfortable, the desert nights are crisp, and most festivals fall in this window. Avoid April to June as temperatures in Rajasthan and Agra can cross 45°C, making outdoor sightseeing very difficult.
Absolutely — this is one of the most recommended packages for first-time visitors to India. It covers the country's most iconic sights (Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, Jaisalmer), offers a well-paced itinerary, and includes a comfortable private vehicle with a professional driver throughout. Our representative will assist you at every step from arrival to departure.
Yes, absolutely. We can tailor this package to suit your schedule. A 6-night version skipping Pushkar or combining Agra and Jaipur, or an extended 11–12 night version adding Udaipur and Bikaner, are both popular options. Please contact our travel desk for a customised quote.
Accommodation
This package is offered in three hotel categories — Standard (3-star), Deluxe (4-star), and Premium (5-star/Heritage). In Jaipur and Agra we recommend heritage properties for an authentic royal experience. At Sam Sand Dunes, all guests stay at a luxury tented desert camp regardless of category, as it is an essential experience of the tour.
The Sam desert camp consists of well-furnished Swiss tents or luxury cottage tents with attached bathrooms, running water, and electricity. The evening includes a camel safari into the dunes, a traditional Rajasthani dinner, and a live folk music and puppet dance performance around a bonfire. The sky at Sam has zero light pollution — on clear nights the Milky Way is visible as a solid band. Full moon nights are especially magical.
Yes, a single room supplement is applicable for solo travellers, as package pricing is based on double/twin occupancy. Please inform us at the time of booking if you are travelling alone so we can provide an accurate quote with the single supplement included.
Transport & Transfers
All transfers and sightseeing are provided in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. The vehicle type depends on group size — an AC Sedan or Innova Crysta for 1–4 passengers, a Tempo Traveller for 5–10 passengers, and a luxury coach for larger groups. All vehicles are well-maintained and driven by experienced, courteous drivers familiar with the route.
There are three options for the return from Jaisalmer to Delhi: (1) Fly — Jaisalmer Airport has regular flights to Delhi (recommended for time-saving); (2) Overnight Train — the Jaisalmer–Delhi Express is a comfortable and scenic option that saves a hotel night; (3) Drive — approximately 800 km, not recommended unless you wish to add Jodhpur or Bikaner on the return. Flights and train tickets are not included in the package and need to be booked separately.
Sightseeing
No, monument entry fees are not included and are payable directly at each site. Key entry fees to plan for: Taj Mahal (₹1,100 for Indians / ₹1,300 for foreigners), Agra Fort (₹650), Amber Fort (₹200 approx), Mehrangarh Fort (₹600 approx), Jaisalmer Fort complex (₹150 approx), and Fatehpur Sikri (₹610 for foreigners). Fees are subject to change and are indicative only.
The package includes a Taj Mahal visit on Day 2 (afternoon) as standard. An optional sunrise visit on Day 3 morning (before departing to Jaipur) can be arranged on request — this is highly recommended as the marble turns from pearl-white to soft gold at dawn and the gardens are least crowded. Please note that the Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.
Local certified guides can be arranged at each destination at an additional charge. We strongly recommend hiring a guide at the Taj Mahal, Amber Fort, Mehrangarh Fort, and Jaisalmer Fort as they significantly enrich the experience with historical context and stories you will not find on any signboard. Guide charges are payable directly and are not included in the package.
Meals & Cuisine
Breakfast is served at your hotel each morning (buffet or à la carte depending on the property). Dinners are at your hotel or at a selected local restaurant featuring authentic Rajasthani and North Indian cuisine — dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri, bajra roti, and more. At the Sam desert camp, dinner is a traditional Rajasthani feast served in the open-air courtyard. Lunches are on your own account and give you a chance to explore local dhabas and street food.
Yes, absolutely. Rajasthan is predominantly vegetarian and most restaurants along this route naturally cater to vegetarian and Jain dietary preferences. Vegan options are also widely available. Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking so we can ensure all hotels and camps are briefed in advance.
